Beck Outs “Progressive” Gingrich

I confess, I was about ready to hop on the Gingrich bandwagon. he’s for smaller government, empowering individuals instead of government for health, social security and medicare, wants to abolish Obamacare, is for developing our own God-given energy resources, to mention a few of the reasons why I like Newt.

Newt’s 21st Century Contract For America is a fine start, and presents an outline in much greater specificity than any other candidate, including Obama. So what’s not to like?

It turns out, that like Romney, Gingrich is a self-proclaimed progressive, and thinks that FDR was the greatest President in US history.

An American Christmas Legend

Rich TAkes! celebrates a true patriot

who gave unselfishly of himself every year since the weeks preceding WWII in support of our troops, especially in the month of December. His Christmas shows were legendary, happy, and heart-wrenching all at once. Thousands who saw his shows never saw their families or country again. In 1996, Congress named Hope the first and only honorary member of the US Armed Forces. It is fitting to honor Bob with this tribute during the Christmas season. We salute you, Bob Hope!

OPEN LETTER TO THE PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA

November 28, 2011

President Barack Obama
The White House
1600 Pennsylvania Avenue, NW
Washington, D.C. 20500

Dear Mr. President,

It is with a great sense of disappointment that I write this. Like many others, I hoped that your election would bring a salutary change of direction to the country, despite what more than a few feared was an overly aggressive social agenda. And I cannot credibly blame you for the economic mess that you inherited, even if the policy response on your watch has been profligate and largely ineffectual. (You did not, after all, invent TARP.) I understand that when surrounded by cries of “the end of the world as we know it is nigh”, even the strongest of minds may have a tendency to shoot first and aim later in a well-intended effort to stave off the predicted apocalypse.

But what I can justifiably hold you accountable for is your and your minions’ role in setting the tenor of the rancorous debate now roiling us that smacks of what so many have characterized as “class warfare”. Whether this reflects your principled belief that the eternal divide between the haves and have-nots is at the root of all the evils that afflict our society or just a cynical, populist appeal to his base by a president struggling in the polls is of little importance. What does matter is that the divisive, polarizing tone of your rhetoric is cleaving a widening gulf, at this point as much visceral as philosophical, between the downtrodden and those best positioned to help them. It is a gulf that is at once counterproductive and freighted with dangerous historical precedents. And it is an approach to governing that owes more to desperate demagoguery than your Administration should feel comfortable with.  Continue reading OPEN LETTER TO THE PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA

Hitler and a Moral Dilemma

Marx, Lenin, Stalin, Hitler, Mao.

Perhaps the five most controversial figures in the industrial era. All extremely bad guys, all communist/progressive/socialists. All in some way perpetrators of cleansing, eugenics, and holocaust. Why they are still exerting influence over our daily politic I can’t imagine. Why are we still embracing these underlying Marxist philosophies is beyond all logic, as well as any portion of my comprehension.

Who is Hitler? Who is the guy in the mustache? Was Adolf Hitler good or evil? Was he responsible for killing 11 million in the Holocaust besides the casualties of war? Only 6 million were Jews, the other 5 million were the lame, sick, mentally or physically challenged, and of course gypsies and negros.Undesirables one and all for the new master race.

The Storm Troopers lined up box car loads of Jews in front of a huge pit in eastern Poland and mowed them down by machine-gun fire. Not all were dead. They command you to operate a bulldozer and fill in the pit. What would you do? Would you bury the survivors alive, or would you take the bullet?

Your answer might surprise you.
