After 108 years the Chicago Cubs, the winningest team in baseball, finally won another World Series.
Next, a mostly life-long Democrat, when he wasn’t Reform Party, or allegedly Republican, Donald Trump not only won the Republican nomination for President, he also soundly whipped Hillary Clinton this past Tuesday to become President-Elect. Surely Hell must have frozen over!
Stranger things have happened, but not in my lifetime.
If you have looked at this blog, you know that I have not been a Trump supporter, or a Clinton supporter, not by a long-shot, or even close to the broad side of a barn.
Still, I wish him well, and pray that he is successful in steering the rudder of our USS United States Ship of State. Congratulations, Donald Trump, you pulled off the impossible.
“ … the issues are irrelevant, because the product Trump was selling is himself. And Trump is a master persuader…”
Here is a guy who has taken two sides to nearly every major issue, and several I couldn’t disagree with more. But I’m willing to give him a chance. Occupying the Oval Office tends to sober a person up real quick, and Trump doesn’t drink or smoke. He may have other vices, but hey, he’s 70 years old already!
I wasn’t a never Trumper, but I was very close. I supported Ted Cruz, he has a resume a mile long, and he took a stand against Obamacare, even if it was a mostly symbolic exercise in the Senate. Cruz did not shut down the government, which only affected 15% or so of non-essential services anyway, Obama shut the government down by refusing to sign legislation that the House sent him for spending. Boehner and McConnell caved, when they could have made a difference if only they stood their ground. Cruz pointed out their Republican hypocrisy, and for thanks, the GOP establishment aimed their guns at him, as well as other fine conservative members of the House and Senate. While the TEA Party and classical liberal conservatives gave the Republicans the House and later the Senate, for thanks the GOP took aim at conservatives..
Now it is up to Trump to save the Republican Party. That thought is not only scary, it is also ironic.
The Republican Party set the stage for someone like Trump to get the nomination by not pushing back in any significant way against Obama’s policies. The people have spoken loud and clear that we don’t like Obama’s policies and unconstitutional over-reaches ever since Obama took office in 2009 and then set to work jamming central government Obamacare down our throats. The mid-terms in 2010 and 2014 should be proof enough. And now in the 2016 General, Hillary lost by huge enough margins in states she was supposed to win.
The election is over, and kudos are also in order to Hillary and Obama for her gracious concession and his walk around the White House to begin the transition.
The truth is, the American people have repudiated Obama’s agenda since the 2010 mid-terms. Trump represents just the latest iteration of American’s disgust with the path we’ve been following since 2009. Trump seems to be serious about reversing nearly all of Obama’s legacy. I pray he does just that.
If Hillary Clinton were anyone other than Hillary Clinton, she would have been in jail over a year ago. The very fact that she conducted business while Secretary of State on her home brewed server is in violation of the Freedom of Information Act, the Records Act, and the Espionage Act. There are at least 16 potential violations, with the counts numbering in the thousands.
What is even worse is the pay for play scheme conducted at the same time for the Clinton Foundation, the Clinton Global Initiative, and the ridiculous “speaking fees” that Bill commanded once Hillary became SoS. His speaking fees amounted to an average of 275k beginning in 2009. A typical speaking fee at that time was around 25 k or so for in demand speakers at legitimate venues.
The FBI has been investigating the Clinton Foundation for over a year, predating even the rogue email server controversy. Thanks to Peter Schweizer’s book, “Clinton Cash”.
(the above movie begins at around the 14:56 mark)
Exactly one week ago, the FBI and James Comey said that they were re-opening the investigation into Hillary, due to new evidence acquired during their investigation into Anthony Weiner’s sexting issue with a fifteen year old. They seized a lap-top, and behold, it had 650,000 emails featuring Huma Abedin and Hillary Clinton on it. Dick Morris is speculating that said laptop is not Huma’s or Anthony’s at all, it is Hillary’s missing laptop for over two years, and that Huma was simply holding it for safe-keeping in order to document a future book or something. As I recall, that is exactly the same reason why Nixon installed a secret tape recording machine in the Oval Office, and he got ran out of Dodge for erasing 18 minutes of tape, once it was discovered.
The election is next Tuesday, so if you have not voted already, please vote for anyone other than this un-indicted felon.
There was good reason for Clinton to hide the laptop. It contained ALL of the Hillary Clinton emails that were originally on her personal serve when she worked in the State Department. It had not yet been picked clean yet because no one knew it existed. That laptop housed the 33,000 emails designated as “personal” that Hillary never turned over to the State Dept. and claimed to delete.
“[Weiner] would make a perfect target if someone was looking to get to Hillary because he has direct access to Huma,” who has “carte blanche access to Hillary.”
Hillary and Trump are starting to heat up. Trump calls Hillary a bigot, Hillary calls Trump a racist.
The polls are the polls, Hillary is still in the lead by 3 to 5 points. I won’t be dealing with any of that in this post, instead it primarily concerns the ridiculous politically incorrect nonsense foisted upon us by marxists across the country today.
It has been crystal clear since the Iranian Green Revolution that Obama has been on Iran’s side. We should want them to fall, for a very large variety of reasons.
Instead, we seem to be supporting Iran, who are Russian and Syrian allies, and who are also the largest state sponsor of terror, including and especially against Israel. While the CIA had plans in place to support democratic uprisings whereever they may occur, we have learned that Obama told them to stand down during Iran’s “Green” Revolution.
>> John Brennan, director of the Central Intelligence Agency, said last week that there was evidence much of the money Iran has received from sanctions relief was being used for development projects. “The money, the revenue that’s flowing into Iran is being used to support its currency, to provide moneys to the departments and agencies, build up its infrastructure,”<<
Sure John. That is why we paid 400 million in cash, through Swiss Francs and Euros. It is after all illegal to send US currency to Iran, to say nothing of a wire transfer isn’t it? Aren’t you the guy who converted to Islam during Gulf War I?
Trump seemingly has a few good points going for him. He says he will stop the insanity of admitting middle east “refugees”, and wants to clamp down on illegal immigration. I’d like to know what he wants to do about so-called central American “refugees” whom Obama is inviting into our fair country, and once here, is lavishing resettlement and benefits galore. He wants to take care of the Vets and fix the VA, but on most other issues, he is just another progressive liberal. That is why the RINOs like him, and they can count on him to be willing to make a deal. After all, he is the self-professed king of the deal.
Trump is not an outsider, and his business acumen is also open to question. The RINOs have declared war on Constitutional TEA Party conservatives, you know, us little people who gave them the House and later the Senate in order to stop Obama, and instead betrayed us by giving Obama everything he wanted, even after we got Boehner tossed as Speaker. I’ll stop right here, more comments below.
Welcome to RichTAkes! On the RINO National Convention!
Check out the Trump and Hillary look-a-likes near the end!
I’m sure I’m not alone in thinking that the RNC reminds me more of a wake, instead of a look ahead at a future to support and believe in. Erick Erickson’s coherent thoughts on what is happening to the party at the RNC.
>> . . . it is just meaningless team sport in favor of their team. There is no substance, just sloganeering that means as much to each person and is taken as much differently by each person as “hope and change” was in 2008.
So much could have changed, but nothing will. And in four years, the very people who lamented Trump only to jump on his train cheerleading to the end will be back at it again because “not Clinton.” <<
McConnell promised to crush the TEA Party over two years ago. After smashing Bevin with Trump’s support, McDaniel, Cruz, Stutzman, and others, the RINOs are now attacking Tim Huelskamp.
The irony of the GOPe defeating Stutzman for the IN Senate nomination is that they will probably now lose that seat. I don’t think they even care. Former Governor and Senator Evan Bayh tossed his hat into the ring last week. Bayh will probably win on name recognition alone. Stutzman would have had a chance, but this Young guy, hand-picked by McConnell, is an unknown back-bencher.
Under the rules of the convention, a majority of seven delegations could force a roll vote on the rules; it would then take a majority of the delegates to toss the rules committee’s book. At least 11 states signed on: Colorado, Washington, Utah, Minnesota, Wyoming, Maine, Iowa, Virginia, Alaska, North Dakota, and Washington D.C.
So the secretary of the convention hid behind a curtain to avoid having to accept the signatures.
Donald Trump needs to reach a majority on a first ballot to win the Republican nomination, he has little chance on a second or subsequent ballot at the Republican National Convention.
Tuesday in New York Trump took a giant step towards that end. It is no surprise that Trump won NY, but the margin that he won it by might have been. He received about 60% of the vote, and Kasich might have picked up 5 delegates, while Cruz goose-egged. Donald Trump did much better than I predicted, he looks like he will pocket 90 delegates when all is said and done.
Next week, the rest of the Mid-Atlantic and North East region will go to the polls, and Donald will do very well then too. PA and MD will be in play.
In the west, Trump will not have such an easy road. Cruz will easily win most of the remaining western states, and his support is pretty strong in California, too. This means that for the first time in my life, Indiana will play a “yuge” role in a primary election ballot on May 3rd. Since Indiana is an open primary state, it is a good thing that Hillary is facing a strong challenge from socialist democrat Bernie Sanders. That should keep the cross-over vote down.
The Hoosier State will likely decide the next Republican Nominee.
Just three years, four months ago, Trump was not registered in any party. He was still donating plenty to liberal Democrats and Establishment Republicans. That is what the Establishment does.
KING: You’re not going to march with the tea party? TRUMP: I don’t march with the tea party. …Trump went on to defend the TARP bailouts: “If they didn’t stuff the banks with money, we’d be in depression number two right now, Larry … Trump, the guy who hosted two fundraisers for Charlie Crist in 2009. He donated to Harry Reid over Sharron Angle in 2010. Trump, the guy who donated $50,000 to make Rahm Emanuel the mayor of Chicago. In the founding days of the Tea Party, Donald Trump was exactly what they were fighting against… and now some of those adherents have embraced him fully.
I’ve long suspected that Kasich’s end game would be aiming towards angling as a Veep candidate, there is no other explanation for not suspending his campaign. While I’m not sure about Trump delegates who will sit on the Convention Rules Committee, I’m fairly certain that the Cruz delegates who will be there will not agree to substantially altering Rule 40B, which could open up the nomination process to anyone.
“John Kasich has decided to bypass any attempt to blur his rationale for staying in the race, and is now openly auditioning for Donald Trump’s Vice President slot,”
Absolutely the best greatest Trump hits compilation that I’ve seen so far this election cycle.

From last August concerning the Colorado caucus process, and dumping the straw poll. If dropping the straw poll would have benefitted anyone last August, it would have been Jeb Bush.
Donald Trump is crying about losing delegates and being cheated by the RNC, the “Establishment,” and Ted Cruz. His fans are up in arms over it. The reality is that they should be questioning their candidate’s ability to adapt to the role of President of the United States based upon the complete and utter incompetence that he’s demonstrating in this campaign.
Trump “The ‘King of Whoppers,” when the Donald dominated FactCheck.org’s 2015 annual review of political falsehoods:
In the 12 years of FactCheck.org’s existence, we’ve never seen his match. He stands out not only for the sheer number of his factually false claims, but also for his brazen refusals to admit error when proven wrong.
If you are pro-life, you cannot vote for Donald Trump. … If the man is not a covert supporter of legalized abortion, he has at least thought about the issue so rarely and so incompletely that he cannot articulate a coherent sentence about it
“If not for Cruz, Trump would inevitably be the nominee. Yet he’s a weak front-runner, having lost about a dozen contests to Cruz prior to the Wisconsin primary.”
Well, I think many. I mean, when we get into the Bible, I think many, so many. And some people, look, an eye for an eye, you can almost say that. That’s not a particularly nice thing. But you know, if you look at what’s happening to our country, I mean, when you see what’s going on with our country, how people are taking advantage of us, and how they scoff at us and laugh at us. And they laugh at our face, and they’re taking our jobs, they’re taking our money, they’re taking the health of our country. And we have to be firm and have to be very strong. And we can learn a lot from the Bible, that I can tell you.
The nomination process “is a multilevel Rubik’s Cube,” says Jeff Roe, Cruz’s campaign manager. “Trump thought it was a golf ball — you just had to whack it.”
The level of Trump’s incoherence in this answer easily bests anything that Hillary has spit out, and that is sayin’ something!
HIATT: So what do you think China’s aims are in the South China Sea?
TRUMP: Well I know China very well, because I deal with China all the time. I’ve done very well. China’s unbelievably ambitious. China is, uh… I mean, when I deal with China, you know, I have the Bank of America building, I’ve done some great deals with China. I do deals with them all the time on, you know, selling apartments, and, you know, people say ‘oh that’s not the same thing.’ The level of… uh, the largest bank in the world, 400 million customers, is a tenant of mine in New York, in Manhattan. The biggest bank in China. The biggest bank in the world.
China has got unbelievable ambitions. China feels very invincible. We have rebuilt China. They have drained so much money out of our country that they’ve rebuilt China. Without us, you wouldn’t see the airports and the roadways and the bridges; I mean, the George Washington Bridge is like, that’s like a trinket compared to the bridges that they’ve built in China. We don’t build anymore, and it, you know, we had our day. But China, if you look at what’s going on in China, you know, they go down to seven percent or eight percent and it’s like a national catastrophe. Our GDP is right now zero. Essentially zero.
“If Satan had the lead on him and was one delegate away from being nominated as our candidate, and Donald Trump was the alternative, I might vote for Donald Trump,”
…the aborted baby, who’s heart was still beating, was kept it alive to harvest its brain. Seriously, how on EARTH did we reach a point in our society where we’re more concerned about whether the baby in the video was the real aborted baby or a miscarried baby (that was the same age and gestation as the aborted baby) than the fact that Planned Parenthood cut into its face TO HARVEST ITS BRAIN?
The Cheese-heads of Wisconsin have spoken, and spoken loudly, giving Ted Cruz a huge, huge, landslide victory in the Republican Primary yesterday. Cruz out-performed the polls again by close to ten points, winning over 48% of ballots cast in a three man race. Two weeks ago, all of the smart money said that this would be a cake-walk for Trump, now it seems that there is little chance of Trump walking into the Convention this summer with a majority of delegates. I should probably also note that self-described socialist Bernie Sanders also whipped Hillary in Wisconsin, and whipped her badly.
Remember,
>>”The conundrum of Trump supporters is perfectly explained by the fact that they like a guy who had actual affairs and hate Cruz for fake ones” – author unknown<<
While he has decried the rules as being unfair, Trump himself has benefitted from them. He has obtained a greater proportion of delegates than his proportion of votes and up until now…
