US Foreign Aid to Countries Holding Billions in Treasury Securities?

Speaker Boehner has not yielded on increasing the national debt limit without corresponding spending cuts. He has agreed to meet Obama on the links on Sunday, we’ll see if anything gets worked out I guess. I hope it doesn’t. Anything that Obama agrees to will likely be bad for our country.

The larger issue here is that we are giving foreign aid to countries that are handling large chunks of our national debt. This list is simply astounding. An even larger issue is that we don’t have the extra funds to be tossing around willy-nilly anymore.

An Open Letter to the Speaker and the Minority Leader

Dear Speaker Boehner and Leader McConnell:

There is no better opportunity for those associated with the Conservative Movement to make a strong, bold, and principled statement to the American people than the approaching debt limit vote.  We write to you today urging that the debt limit not be increased unless the legislation includes substantial steps to change the spending ways of the federal government.

Star Parker on Stossel and the Ubiquitous Welfare State

“I’m from the government, and I’m here to help”

 

Anytime the government interferes with natural economic laws and individual freedom and liberty, there are unintended consequences.

Star Parker tells of her experiences on welfare in the 90s. She thought it was great, and hung out at Venice Beach most days. I thought we reformed Welfare back then (after Clinton vetoed the Bill twice, he finally signed it) sadly, things have not changed all that much today.

 

Netanyahu Spells out Israeli Reality

Last Thursday President Obama claimed that the US thinks that any new peace agreement with Palestine should be based on Israel’s pre-1967 borders. This came on the eve of Israeli PM Benjamin Netanyahu’s visit to the White House.  Here is Netanyahu’s response at the Oval Office.
