OPEN LETTER TO THE PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA

November 28, 2011

President Barack Obama
The White House
1600 Pennsylvania Avenue, NW
Washington, D.C. 20500

Dear Mr. President,

It is with a great sense of disappointment that I write this. Like many others, I hoped that your election would bring a salutary change of direction to the country, despite what more than a few feared was an overly aggressive social agenda. And I cannot credibly blame you for the economic mess that you inherited, even if the policy response on your watch has been profligate and largely ineffectual. (You did not, after all, invent TARP.) I understand that when surrounded by cries of “the end of the world as we know it is nigh”, even the strongest of minds may have a tendency to shoot first and aim later in a well-intended effort to stave off the predicted apocalypse.

But what I can justifiably hold you accountable for is your and your minions’ role in setting the tenor of the rancorous debate now roiling us that smacks of what so many have characterized as “class warfare”. Whether this reflects your principled belief that the eternal divide between the haves and have-nots is at the root of all the evils that afflict our society or just a cynical, populist appeal to his base by a president struggling in the polls is of little importance. What does matter is that the divisive, polarizing tone of your rhetoric is cleaving a widening gulf, at this point as much visceral as philosophical, between the downtrodden and those best positioned to help them. It is a gulf that is at once counterproductive and freighted with dangerous historical precedents. And it is an approach to governing that owes more to desperate demagoguery than your Administration should feel comfortable with.  Continue reading OPEN LETTER TO THE PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA

Peter Schiff weighs in on taxes & regulations

Peter Schiff appeared on Huckabee and shares his experiences with needlessly complicated government regulations. He explained how he was fined for hiring too many people, and why he needed to setup an off shore subsidiary instead of expanding his US presence.

Schiff is CEO of Euro Pacific Capital, a best-selling author, and former candidate for Senate in CT. He has also testified before Congress on numerous occasions about economic and fiscal issues.

Electronic Benefit Transfer cards- The EBT

There has been a recent trend to celebrate the monthly EBT card, with WIC, food stamps and other welfare benefits preloaded, all in one place. Life is a gravy train with an EBT card!

“Use yo EBT, it’s free!”

Here are a few examples from YouTube.

Peter Schiff Speaks to the House

Peter Schiff is a patriot. He is also an Austrian School economist, and is one of the few who predicted the economic crash of 2008.

“The United States economy is like the Titanic and I am here with the lifeboat trying to get people to leave the ship… I see a real financial crisis coming for the United States.”  On December 31, 2006 in debate on Fox News, Schiff forecast that “what’s going to happen in 2007” is that “real estate prices are going to come crashing back down to Earth”

His testimony before the House jobs committee is worth listening to.

Part two of Schiff’s testimony after the jump.

From the Congressional Record, 1963

A listing of Communist goals . . . nearly all of these are complete today.

Isn’t it time we did something about it?

EXTENSION OF REMARKS OF HON. A. S. HERLONG, JR. OF FLORIDA

IN THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES

Thursday, January 10, 1963

Mr. HERLONG. Mr. Speaker, Mrs. Patricia Nordman of De Land, Fla., is an ardent and articulate opponent of communism, and until recently published the De Land Courier, which she dedicated to the purpose of alerting the public to the dangers of communism in America.

At Mrs. Nordman’s request, I include in the RECORD, under unanimous consent, the following “Current Communist Goals,” which she identifies as an excerpt from “The Naked Communist,” by Cleon Skousen:
