Rochester Police Don’t Like Candid Camera

Police Illegally Trespass and Arrest Woman in Her Front Lawn for Recording Traffic Stop: An Eyewitness Report

A woman in Rochester, NY video-tapes a routine traffic stop occurring in front of her own house. She noticed that the police had the driver in handcuffs.

One officer insists that the woman go back into her house, claims she made him “uncomfortable”. She says she is in her own front yard, she needs some fresh air. When all is said and done, the driver of the car who was initially stopped was released, and the lady who was recording it all went to jail.

The Courts have already established that there is no presumption of privacy on a public street, so I guess making a cop uncomfortable (by video-taping his actions?) must be against some law in Rochester?
