Born in Arkansas, Jr Walker was from South Bend, IN, and later moved to Battle Creek after his band became “Junior Walker & the All-Stars”
The All Stars were an early hit at Motown. Here is the original “I’m a Road Runner” which Humble Pie later had a huge hit with.
I like the sound from the tenor sax. I find the sound from the alto and soprano sax annoying. The tenor has a deeper richer sound.
